A Fav Verse Of Mine

I Corinthians 9:24-27
(24) Do you not know that in a race, all runners run but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way to get the prize. (25) Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that lasts forever. (26) Therefore, I do not run like a man running aimlessly, I do not fight like a man beating the air. (27) Instead, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached the gospel to others, I myself will NOT be disqualified for the prize.

That isn't really one verse, is it? Oh well. This verse makes me a better person as well as a gymnast and aspiring baton twirler. And I memorized that verse, just to let you know. I have a portion of this verse on my wall above my bed to motivate me for practices.

Whenever it seems like I'm the worst gymnast in the country or I'll never win gold, I look to it and remember that Jesus gave more than a gold medal could ever give, so we should give him our all, that we may get something far better than a gold medal someday. Sure, a gold medal costs about a couple million dollars, and if an Olympian wanted to sell their medal, (some really do) they would be rich and fast, no doubt about it. But the crown we get in Heaven is priceless.

Wearing Jean Shorts For the First Time!

It feels SO good! However, I have to weed for FAITH today so I couldn't dress all nice and pretty, but I dressed to impress! Oh, Spring feels so good...

Aww! Awesome Ending!

OMG, I found out the saddest and cutest ending for my book! I can't tell you it, but it's so sad! The ending is getting better every time I think about it! as you may know, I'm typing up THE PERFECT RACE and plotting ANOTHER PERFECT RACE. But when i get to my final book in the "PERFECT RACE" saga, THE FINAL RACE, it will have a tragic ending.

Here's a clue... Mandy will not win gold this time in the womens' relay. A fatal tradgedy will happen to her and her family. Something horrible strikes.

The bright side is... Her parents remarry. She has a positive outcome of the 'fatal tradgedy'.

Now, we know something bad will happen, but what is it? No telling...

Make A Blog Ministry!

Blogging is loads of fun, I know. And if you aren't the most "social" person, here's how to spread the word about Jesus through a keyboard and a blog.

1. Music. The proper music will atract people. Somebody may be trying to reach Facebook and accidentally reach your blog, but if you have good music, they may stay on. It isn't good for strangers to read your blog, but still. First, you may want the very first song to be a popular, possibly NON-Christian song. if someone hears "Fireflies", they'll be singing along until the next song. Or if you prefer Christian music all the way through, use Flyleaf or Superchic[k].

2. Good topics. A good topic will definitely atract visitors. Hae an interesting one, not a boring one such as, "I walked the dog. Posted by Kaytie at 8:30." That one is way too short and no one will like your blog if it's like that. And at least exaggerate your day like, "I nearly flew off the balance beam when my hands missed for a tumbling skill! So many thoughts went across my head in that moment, trying to find a solution to survive this routine without flying through air!" THAT'S exciting, partially because that really happened. And luckily, I was on the low beam so that minor scare was just a drill.

3. Have sidebars with lyrics to your favorite meaningful Christian songs such as, "Sorrow lasts through this night, I take this piece of you, and hold for all eternity!" Have sidebars with good messages too, like famous quotes.

As easy as 1-2-3!

Applications: Soon Available

For Gymnastics IS Life, we are having a weekly, monthly, and annual contest for our athletes at Bethel Christian and just plain athletes I know. Our dancers, cheerleaders, and of course, gymnasts are going to be in a contest to get the huge prize--- the athlete of the year.

Once an athlete in one of three categories, cheer, tumbling, or dance applies, that is kept record of all year. Once they've been one of three athletes of the week, they qualify for one of the three athletes of the month. Once they've reached that award, they have the chance of being one of three athletes of 2010. Once they've reached that goal, the public steps in.

There's an election. On a poll, will be the athletes' names, for example;

Chelsea Stew
Andrea M.
Kujo Laurent

You will vote on that person. The last three athletes will have a slogan like, "Be happy with Slappy!" or "Vote for Kujo and change the world". They will each have an individual photo of them in uniform and also in normal clothing. Once they've won the title, they make up an acceptance speech. They win candy, because who doesn't like candy? They get interviewed and share what started them in the sport. Understood? The nominees are:

Miranda schoone (gymnast, Special Olympics, state level)
Melanie Manuel (cheerleader, Troy Christian)
Mariah Ball (dancer)
Kaitlyn Newman (cheerleader, Spartans)
Kayla Vice (cheerleader, TWIGS)
Micheala McCamey (gymnast, TOPS)
Annika Anderson (gymnast, unknown gym)
Kalie Schaffer (dancer)
Jacob Vice (gymnast, TWIGS)
Andrea Murray (cheerleader, Grace Huber)

yes, I know, there is only one boy. Congrats, nominees! Also, I need more dancers and more boys, so if you know any possible nominees, I need to know! And to all nominees, if you are an athlete of the week, month, or year, your picture, if preferred, will appear next to a famous gymnast/cheerleader/dancer that resembles you.

Where Dreams Come Alive

One day awhile ago, I questioned myself as to why I started writing in the first place, and what makes me feel so good about it?

Well, in my books, whenever it's first-person-point-of-view, I feel like I'm that character, like it's really happened to me. I feel like I can tell my biggest secrets, and you wouldn't know it's a secret at all. I can fufill my fantasies, while still being the normal person I am. I can be America's next top model, or a peasant. I can be Chinese, or Dutch. I can change my name. I can exaggerate things that will probably never happen. I can be a princess, or a small-town girl. I can be a celebrity, or just plain me. I can be Micheal Jackson, or Miley Cyrus. (huge opposites) I can have a missing page of John Wilkes Booth's diary, or have met Abe Lincoln. I can have gone to the Olympics. (THE PERFECT RACE, ANOTHER PERFECT RACE, THE LAST RACE, and LOSER!) I can be Lindsey Vonn. I can be my next-door-neighbor. (btw that's the Potters and Elizabeth Flaim, she's a cheerleader at Wayne)

I love how when I write, I get to go back when I'm all finished and read everything and know I wrote this. I can also view a movie in my head and I'm the ONLY person who knows EXACTLY what my characters look like.

But my favorite part is I can end my book any way I want. I can make it tradgedy. Everyone can die in a fire. She can get last place. They can wake up and realize all those amazing things that happened were just a dream. (something that makes me mad every time and will never do) I can make them fall in love. I can write, "To be continued"... And no one else has power over it. Authors have authority!

We'll Sing Until...

The whole world hears! Just random=D

ATTENTION ALL GYMNASTS:
I have posted one exciting new post on GYMNASTICS IS LIFE! Our main goal in life should not be the Olympics, but why? Let's peek at it on the blog list, just for a peek, and click the link to see...

Writing Geek

If I had to be a geek I'd call myself a writing geek, because I am! Today is the day I type up "The Perfect Race". Yay!

Stupid iTunes

Okay, my very stubborn sister Faith won't buy the song I need off of iTunes! I need "Lead Me To The Cross" by Chris and Conrad, but Faith won't buy it! I'm on the edge of settling for "Forgiven".

Interviewing a Songwriter

Your Blog: What was the first song you ever wrote?

Cheerleaders, Singers, and Experiment-ERS!

Today is the girls' ministries talent show. I have a cheerleading performance and I'm cheering/chanting, tumbling, and stunting.=D

I'm singing for the same talent show, in fact, I'm singing "Slow Fade" by Casting Crowns.

I went to the salon today and Faith got her bangs cut. I picked up her hair off the floor and one section goes in one cup. They will be in separate cups. In ten days, I will revisit the hairs to see which is healthier--- the one in water, a representative to people who wash their hair everyday, or the one in oil, the one who oils and sprays their hair every night. This will help aspiring cosmetologists to know what to do with your hair everyday.

The Perfect Race

I was only seven then, only seven; when I was drawn to the Olympics.

I'd sit in front of the television all night until bedtime watching not what the average second grader would watch, Playhouse Disney, Winnie The Pooh, and Dora. Instead...

You just got "clipped!" This is a new thing I'm doing which is when I put a clip of my book on and you read it. The use? Just a sneak peek...

Confessions of a Writaholic

I really was impressed with my writing skills on TRY AGAIN: THE REASON THOUSANDS OF GIRLS AND BOYS ARE QUITTING GYMNASTICS. I knew that reason wasn't the ONLY reason kids quit tumbling, but it was an accurate reason: trying new things.

I should do this more often...

P.S. Guess how many posts I have? I'm now over 250!

HeHe=D

Playin' around. Also, Mr. John Bowman was in town, but he left Friday to go back to Colorado. I miss the Bowmans!!!!

In fact, speaking of which, I know this level 5 girl who is... Idk... Bethany's age? Six or seven? She's Philipino (totally killed that!!!) And so adorable! She looks like a little three year old! And one time, she was doing a back walkover on beam and her hands missed the beam and her head cracked. They were wondering if she was okay and she was like, "I'm fine! Don't embarrass me!" with her little accent! Little kids... so strong-willed...

Concert Pic

This is the amazing concert. The first photo I believe is Caleb. Second, Casting Crowns. Third, Tenth Avenue North. Fourth I know for sure is Caleb because it was the beginning of the concert and only so many people were there! (it was at the nutter center)

Best Of Both Worlds

Five minutes ago I curled my hair in front while leaving the back straight. It's Cleveland style hair in literally half an hour, step-by-step!

1. You need "Hot Sticks" or a curling iron. With the set of curlers, plug it in and it will heat up on it's own.

2. During that time, comb your hair with one comb. When you're done, clean out excess hair and put it under the sink and clean it.

3. Grab a detangling comb. Comb through flyaways, frizz, and anything else.

4. Put in hair oil all over, and spray the roots. This will moisturize for beautiful shine after you curl.

5. Grab a bristle brush and brush over the excess oil.

6. Comb through again, and separate a few strands from the rest, and then place the curler through and flip the hair, curling upward.

7. Repeat with other hair. WARNING: Your hands may be oily from spraying, so make sure that you wash your hands, no need for soap since you aren't getting dirty, and dry them for a good grip on the curler.

8. Leave curlers in for ten to fifteen minutes. Be patient, it's a fruit of the spirit!

9. Take 'em out. It's time to REALLY play and experiment with your new style!

10. Comb through curled part, and remember, YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE CURLED THE BACK. The more undone your hair is, the better, but you want your curls irresistable. Whatever irresistable is to you.

11. Grab a hair barrette, and sweep your bangs to the side. Yes, you need bangs for this part. While sweeping bangs over the side, place them on top of curled part and secure with barrette.

12. Picture time! Church time! Party time! Banquet time! Concert time! Whatever time it is for you, this look will make you feel, and look, beautiful. If you didn't feel beautiful, well, you are now!!!!

Stevin Curtis Chapman, Casting Crowns, Tenth Avenue North, Caleb, Oh My!

I went to this awesome concert last night and the names you see above? They were there! Tenth Avenue North and Caleb were the opening acts for Casting Crowns! It was awesome!

Yes, I do have photographs, but getting them on the blog I am unsure about.

I saw the Gambrells there and even the Schoones!

It was fun!=D
