Summer Comedy: Inception Music Changes Everything

Okay, let me say it before you do.

I think some of my blog readers know me better than my friends do sometimes.

I mean, I'm not that hard to decode when my entire life is written out.

And one thing that you guys know about me that some of my friends don't? I am obsessed---and I mean it---OBSESSED with "Inception" music. If you've been reading since June 2011, you are probably sighing right now or moving the cursor to the red X, or switching back to Facebook or Tumblr for "just a minute" because you've heard it all before.

There's even been a post on here with a similar title, Inception Music Makes Everything Intense.

Now, here's what I mean by that...

1. "Inception Music Makes Everything Intense" by Chris and Gary (@BigGuknowme on YouTube).
This is the song "528491" by Hans Zimmer. This demonstrates how simple activities can be more dramatic with a simple change of music. And a change of your outfit, get out a glass of wine (not recommended if you are under the age of twenty-one in the United States), change your facial expressions a little bit, yell "NO! NOT HERE!" when a guy tells you to make a sandwich. And there you go.

2. "Bambi Trailer + Inception Music = Blows Your Mind (Heist)" by @swordsman3003.
This is the song "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey. This is just an attempt to scare you out of watching Bambi and make you wanna see it again all at the same time.

3. "Inception Music Makes EVERYTHING Better!!!" by @willeyboy2.
This is also "Mind Heist" by Zack Hemsey. But worse. As much as I love Rebecca Black, this video honestly scares the crap out of me (not literally). Especially at 0:09 (she like, pops up right on time!) and 0:44 (she points you out. Again, right on time!!!). This didn't mkae me laugh at all. It just freaked me out. And to think this is the same girl we fell in love with for her cute songs "My Moment" and "Person of Interest." This is "Friday," a song little to no people liked. I liked it, though.

So, this is what INCEPTION does to a blogger after she's seen it so many times.

MY SUMMER PLAYLIST!

It's June! I still have eight days of school left, talking school days. June 13th. I know, I'm dying. So, I've been doing these things for a year now. Just to let you know, I've bene OBSESSING over quite a few songs lately. You had fiar warning.
  1. "Echo" by Jason Walker. The song is just absolutely beautiful. The piano is absolutely beautiful, like seriously. I love songs that start out with only one instrument and then the entire band joins in, which is exactly what Jason did here. "I don't wanna be down and I just wanna feel alive and get to see your face again, but 'til then... just my echo. My shadow, you're the only friend that I have... I'm out on the edge and I'm SCREAMING my name like a fool at the top of my lungs. Sometimes when I close my eyes I pretend I'm alright, but it's never enough..."
  2. "Cubism Dream" by the Local Natives. I love the guitar, and their voices all perfectly harmonize.
  3. "Chances" by Athlete. I first heard it on a Doctor Who episode, specifically "Vincent and the Doctor." Why do you think Vincent van Gogh is my favorite artist? They placed this song at the perfect time at the end of the episode, when the eleventh Doctor decides to show Gogh (he committed suicide at 37) how amazing of an artist he will become. In his day, or at least how DW shows it, he was not recognized for his talent at all. Just a mad man with a canvas. But this song at the end in the background voiceovered with these words: "He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty.Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world… no one had ever done it before. Perhaps, no one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived." Just perfect. Athlete has a new fan!
  4. "The Other Half of Me" by Ellie Swisher. The song screams everything I want in my future hubby. "You say life is sweeter 'cause I'm in it. But trust in me, I'm the one that's winning!"
  5. "Eyes Wide" by Aristotle (warning: profanity involved in the rap--- I only listen to the chorus) featuring the Local Natives (it's my text alarm--- the "ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh, ooh ooh..." part) and "Wide Eyes" by the Local Natives, which is the original version of the song. I like the music video for "Wide Eyes"... it ruins my love for the song every time I see it--- a shark stalks this guy so he kills it, he fights it and kills it during the best part of the song, it's rather graphic actually. Then he puts it in a bodybag. It'd be hilarious if he got caught. And then the next day he is free of his anxiety... and then it ends with an evil koala climbing down a tree with red eyes. "Not again!!!" It makes you wanna yell. I guess that goes along with "Oh some evil spirit, oh some evil this way comes. They told me how they fear it now they're placing it on their tongues. Oh oh, to see it with my... oh oh oh own eyes..."
  6. "Starbucks Smile" by Maria K. "I'm so in love with your" song, Maria. This song is "as perfect as a Jolly Rancher seems. I'm more than a girl, I'm your biggest fan." You're a pop artist and you can get me to love you. Takes talent. Sometimes I wonder why I listen to this song, but "you give me a million reasons" why. Am I "in love with your" music? "Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah, baby!"
  7. "Abraham's Daughter" by Arcade Fire. The song is rather biblically incorrect (just take a listen and if you're familiar with the story of Abraham almost sacrificing Isaac, you'll get it) but since it's Hunger Games based, I think they only wanted to use it as a metaphor. Besides--- check out that killer percussion! It made walking out of the theater feel pretty darn awesome.
  8. "The Ruler and the Killer" by Kid Cudi. I posted this on my gymnastics blog. Check it out here!
  9. "It's Not Easy (Superman)" by Five For Fighting. So depressing, and speaking of, I have recently discovered my love for slow and sad songs. The majority of the songs I write are slow and sad. "I'm not crazy... or anything."
  10. "Gifts and Curses" by Yellowcard. I love the simple guitar lead at the beginning on the "Mary belongs to the words of a song" part. "(She is the one) but I have a purpose, (she is the one) and I have to fight this... (she is the one) the villain I cannot down... What if I fall then where would I go? Would she know (she is the one), all that I've wanted? (She is the one) and I will be haunted. (She is the one), this gift is my curse for now."
  11. "Take the Heartland" by Glen Hansard. It's very violent, but it makes my day. Yeah. Being the happy girl I am, it's amazing that I am obsessed with sad and angry songs. I mean, come on--- who listens to songs that say, "Should I kill you with my sword, yeah or should I kill you with this word?" How about you just don't kill me at all?
  12. "One Engine" by The Decemberists. Even better than "Down by the Water." I love the electric guitar. But clearly, this band doesn't understand the meaning of the word "hiatus." Weird. "The line of right, it will barely make you feel... make you feel... barely make you feel..."
  13. "American Baby" by the Dave Matthews Band. I mentioned this last time, but sorry, this song is pure genius.
  14. I still like "Hellfire", too.
  15. And I still like "Mombasa" by Hans Zimmer. The only song that makes me rush through my homework like crazy, yet STILL I get a good grade for it.
  16. "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" parts 1 and 2. Part 1 is inspiring and about a girl with cancer. Part 2 is just something you'd play to torture the people in your car.
  17. "Professor Layton's Theme" from some video game. My friend Evan showed it to me in STEM Foundations class one day because he was disappointed that I had good artists on my iPod (specifically referring to Newsboys and TobyMac) but none of their good songs. Come on... I love "Born Again!" but I like this one. Accordion + percussion + piano = Professor Layton and Professor Layton ONLY.
  18. "I'll Make a Man Out of You" by Donny Osmond. I used this song to motivate the only guy on my May Madness team in youth... yup, that's what you get to do when you're the team leader. "Stop sipping like a lady and drink like a man! Chug it! You are on a team full of girls! Don't act like us! Be a man! Mister, I'll make a man out of you!"
  19. "I Am (Creation)" by Overture. Sounds a lot like "Time" by Hans Zimmer. It's form the same album as "Alive (Mary Magdalene)" by Natalie Grant, another song I love.
  20. I might as well mention "Alive (Mary Magdalene)" now:). I love the guitar. "I am His because He is ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE, yeah! ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!" That girl can hit crazy notes.
  21. "This is War" by 30 Seocnds to Mars. If you've heard the song, you probably like it. "OH! To the leader, the pariah, the victor, the messiah! This! Is! Wa-a-ar, YEAH!"
  22. "I Can't Make You Love Me" covered by Kiersten Holine. This song has such a powerful message, and I think anyone who has had a crush on someone who didn't like them back or was in a relationship with someone who didn't feel the same way about them can understand this and relate. "I can't make you love me if you don't. You can't make your heart feel something it won't. Here in the dark, in these final hours, I will lay down my heart and I will feel the power but you won't. No you won't."
  23. "Ignoble" by Kiersten Holine. "I am sorry time was wasted on a heart you didn't love."
  24. "Stay Close" by Fireflight. Fireflight's new song from their new album! Gah! This song gives me the same feeling "For Those Who Wait" does.
  25. "Sometimes" by Halocene. It's got a pretty awesome feel to it. Another band I really like.
  26. "Safe" by Britt Nicole. It's such a pretty song--- Christian, and it's another one of those starts-with-piano-and-ends-with-a-whole-band-behind songs. I would love to sing it in a lower key for Fine Arts next year. I've liked that girl's music since third grade.
  27. "Last Dance" by Halocene. The song plays piano in a lower octave, which I love sooooo much. And then guess what? The whole band comes in!
  28. "You Are My Vision" by Rend Collective Experiment. I can't wait to sing this hymn in church. Maybe I can suggest that we do when I join the worship team.
  29. "Meeting in Doorways" by Deas Vail. It's happy and sad. Of course, I adore its sad vibe more than the happy vibe.
  30. "Asleep at the Wheel" by Wesley Blaylock, a solo project of his aside form Deas Vail. Can't wait to interview him...
  31. Lastly, "Who Knows Who Cares" by the Local natives. Makes me feel like I'm in a jazz club. Has a sad vibe, but makes me feel confident.
Yup. Those are the songs I am in love with right now. There's probably more but... oh well.

What Will People Think When They Hear That I'm a 90s Freak???

I love the 90s... was born in '98, so it makes sense, right? However, I've got a confession: I love cartoons. The old ones. Preferably from the 90s. And possibly Disney??? Not the new Disney crap though, don't worry.
Here are funny (and sad) videos of cartoons.

This is hilarious--- I love how Howl is such a drama king whiny baby--- "I give up. I see no point in living if I can't be beautiful." Drama king. Drama king. Reminds me of that book series on here from "the violent fifth grade" (Mat Kearney quote! And tomorrow is the last day to get his "Young Love" album for $5 at any Family Christian Stores lcoation! I got it and give it about 4 stars. Why not 5? Too much not-so-Christlike stuff ["...Albatross--- that's a metaphor for death!" LoL, sorry... my sister was a makeup artist in our school's first production, which was "How to Succeed in High School Without Really Trying"] but then it all tied together in the end). Fifth grade feels so long ago... can't believe I've been blogging since then. It still feels weird seeing my horrible grammar from when I was ten years old.

Okay, this was numbered waaaaayyyy wrong: MUFASA'S DEATH SHOULD HAVE BEEN NUMBER ONE!!!! Everybody loves Mufasa. Dude, when I was little I always wanted to cry on that part but my eyes never let me... that part of "The Lion King" scarred me for life, and the music is just beautiful going along with it. And just by chance I checked Hans Zimmer's Wiki and voila! He composed "The Lion King"! Yeah, Zimmer simmers alright:)

So.... Here's what the numbering should have been
1. Mufasa (that part still is so powerful, nearly eighteen years later)
2. Bambi (the music is really haunting... you know, that old people choir in the background? Yeah. Creepy). His mommy died. And that whole movie makes me wanna cry.
3. Gurgi. He committed suicide--- he told the boy not to jump and said he has a lot of friends. "But Gurgi," he said, "Has no friends." :(
4. Shang because he didn't even die. Mulan 2 was really crappy, but when she throws the sword down or whatever, it's really painfulto watch.
5. That random firefly from "Princess and the Frog."

Yeah. That's the wonderful world of Disney.

My Winter Playlist

Ah, the goodness music does for mankind. So, I made a seasonal series of what I am listening to right now. So, here is what I'm listening to right now! (In no particular order.)
  1. "Old School Love" by Megan and Liz. "Does anybody miss that" old school love? I think so! The music video is really weird and the dancing is really awkward... But I love 1:15 through to 1:41. I've always wanted to hold a guy hostage... as bad as that may have sounded, it was completely innocent, trust me. And the guy on the left is named TJ. I have seen another video he's in (and he talks!) and it will be on Eighth Graders Anonymous very soon. Twinning??? Yes. Megan and Liz are fraternal twin sisters. They look sreepily similar here, especially at that part I just pointed out when they're doing all the same motions... so creepy... so awesome!
  2. "Airplanes" by the Local Natives. I love the piano, the bass, the percussion, the really weird lyrics, everything. And the violin, to Pluto and back. I love how it says "I keep those chopsticks you had from when you taught abroad, taught abroad in Japan." I love the song in general. I first heard the song at school. I love my school. I love the Skull Candy headphones I first heard this song with. I love the iPod it was on (Because it has "Move Along" by the All-American Rejects and a song by Peter Bjorn and John on it). I love YouTube. I love the person that posted the unofficial video on YouTube (@BennisHahn). "I love it all... so much I call,  want you back, back, back... You back..."
  3. "Safe and Sound" by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars. The song was made for The Hunger Games, and I am more than excited! I never quite finished that series... LoL, didn't have the time to. But the song is just b-e-a-utiful... Even Faith likes, and that is a big deal coming from the Anti-TaylorSwift.
  4. "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots" parts 1 and 2, by The Flaming Lips. Hate the band name, love the song. Part 1 is very inspiring, about a girl named Yoshimi who battled cancer and... well, she died. Part 2 is the battle... intense. And Yoshimi has a screaming part in it!
  5. "Young Folks" by Peter, Bjorn and John. Self-explanatory why I love it.
  6. "We Found Love" cover by Boyce Avenue. Love them. I hated the song before they covered it. Like, seriously. Cold hate. But Boyce Avenue changed all that. And, in honor of the brothers, my guitar is named Daniel Fabian Alejandro.
  7. "Take My Hand" by The Cab. Totally reminds me of middle school drama. So, my advice? "Don't worry, just breathe... Say they wanna change, I hope that you remain the same to show that this is not a game, let's end this tragedy today. Now take my hand and we will run away down to this place that I know... We won't, be apart of, we won't, be apart of this..."
  8. "Go to the River" by Yael Naim. Who doesn't love her???
  9. "Time" by Hans Zimmer:) for obvious reasons.
  10. "Again" by Flyleaf. Everybody hates Flyleaf and everybody loves them. I don't know how I feel. But I know for sure I love this song.
  11. "Your Love Never Fails" by Jesus Culture. When I first heard this song, I was in church with the adults an dwas like... "It's not that good a song..." Then I heard the original and was like, "Oh! The adult worship team didn't do this song justice at all..." and I have permission to say that about them because my dad is the worship team's main bassist!
  12. "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence. I just love Amy Lee's voice so much...
  13. "The Redeemer" by Sanctus Real. I can't get away from this beautiful band...
  14. "Battle At Aslan's How" by Harry Gregson-Williams, who composed lots of my gymnastics music way back in the day. He's 2012's Beethoven, Hans Zimmer is our Mozart.
  15. "Liar Liar" by Christina Grimmie. Christina... "Tell me why these roads keep leading... leading you right back..."
  16. "When You're Gone" by Avril Lavigne. An old classic I've always loved... and now I can play it on guitar!
  17. "Hey Mama" by Mat Kearney. Catchiest song I've ever heard. This is a pop-ish song, but I am making an exception--- Mat, you're amazing!
  18. "Sing You Home" by Xenia. I saw the video in a Justin Bieber playlist and was like, "Xenia? Hey, that's a city in my state!" Then I realized the girl's name is Xenia. Yeah, she was a contestant on The Voice last year. I only watched some of it because Adam Levine was on it.
  19. "Ships in the Night" by Mat Kearney. Okay, this is definitely pop, no exceptions. But i don't care... this is what pop music was MEANT to be.
  20. And, of course, every. Deas. Vail. song. there. is.
That's my music life this season!!

Inception Music Makes EVERYTHING Intense!!!!

If your sound goes in and out, it's alright... the beginning just has bad sound quality. But the rest of the video should be alright.

Isn't it intense??? And one of the guys looks like Leonardo DiCaprio (nominated for Best Actor on The Blogpsot Awards--- remember to vote!) and the video is just so intense. I posted a comment on it on YouTube (I'm @Gymnastix1710) saying as I was typing my comment, I was going super fast because of how the music made my typing intense.

Go, Hans Zimmer!

I learned his song that I always gab about (it's not necessary to say the name so I won't... alright, it's "Time") on piano and bass and guitar. I just need a violin or cello now. And possible horn???

Like, legit. Hans makes everything intense. Without his music, the movie could be a piece of crap. I don't know though, I've never seen it on mute. And I don't intend to. Evanescence's "Bring me to Life" screams Inception... only the video came out eight years ago and Inception was two.

But yeah. If I ever get the chance, I'm gonna act something stupid out to "Time". What can be stupidly emotional??? Well, my dad does go on deleting sprees with our DVR (which resulted in losing "Inception" gazillion times and "Titanic" once when it would've been my first time seeing it and it was the one rare time it's ever been on ABC Family) and it's always emotional to find out something i wanted to see got deleted. But I'm sure there's something more out there...

So that's my random life.

got milk???
Aw man, I can't find the "got milk" font:(

What's YOUR Team???

I know what you're thinking. I can read minds.

YOU: "Oh no..."
ME: "Ohh yeahh babyy..."
YOU: "Please don't tell me you're team Jacob."
ME: "I'm not."
YOU: "So you're team Edward?"
ME: "Nope."
YOU: "What team are you???!!!"
ME: "I'm Team Zimmer/Gregson-Willliams!"
YOU: "They're not in Twilight..."
ME: "I'm not talking Twilight... I'm talking score!"

I hope that resolved everything. One: I don't watch/read Twilight. Two: I think there's only one point there.

Right now I am listening to one of my absolute favorite scores, "Battle At Aslan's How" by Harry Gregson-Williams. (You can hear that song, plus two other songs by Williams, two songs by Trevor Rabin, and "Time" by Hans Zimmer if you click here.) But that's not what this is about. This is about TAKE THAT, "SOCIAL NETWORK!"

Okay, so, if you're not in on the latest Score drama, you need to read this.
First, if you're REALLY not updated about what's going on in the world of Score and you don't even know what it is, let me clarify this: It is not fiction. It is a genre of music, usually (as far as I know) meaning it is a part of a soundtrack for a movie and it's instrumental with the exception of acappella. So, the latest drama going on is that Trent Reznor got an Oscar (I know... aren't those for movies? Then again, scores are a part of movies, so...) for his work on "The Social Network" and it beat out my ole man Hans. I mean, seriously. "The Social Network" ain't got nothing on this:

You gotta love "Time"... I love it so much that my last chapter of "Unspoken" is about Grace, and if you read the book you'll find out who she is, and I named the chapter "Time" because, well, she's kinda explaining that time has healed her of so many things while also taking breaks in between mentioning how she's playing piano in her school's orchestra at the time. And you wouldn't know it unless you were Team Zimmer or read this post, but the song she is playing is "Time".

And what other musician sounds better live than recorded? That's a first! (Psst--- that's Hans on the piano!)

Take THAT, Team Reznor! You may love that guy of yours so much, but would you dedicate an entire chapter of your BOOK to him? Would you put him in your acknowledgements (I don't think Zimmer will be in there, but there's a chance)? And, would you put your funeral in the hands of Zimmer by having "Time" played there hopefully a good seventy years from now? Nope. You're just too Facebook-obsessed to realize there's better music out there. So get off the computer and get on your iPod. Get off Facebook and get on iTunes. You can still be forgiven of your misdemeanor. You can give my buddy an Oscar... next time he makes a masterpiece like this.

And listen to my other buddy while you're at it. This beautiful song deserves more than a place in a movie. It deserves more than having the privilege of being the first song I ever learned musically, and it was on piano FYI. And it deserves more than being my second favorite score.

Don't the violins and cello and horn make you wanna cry???? I swear I have asthma when I listen to this song. I can't breathe.

Take THAT, Team Facebook! You don't even deserve the right to be called Team Reznor. All due respect. But y'all got nothing on this. I'm barely breathing, it's that good. I. CAN'T. BREATHE.
